Distinguished for his outstanding business leadership and management, his broad knowledge across the infrastructure industry and his technical expertise in the built environment, water and environmental engineering. Mike has been responsible for the design, project management and delivery of a wide range of high-profile international infrastructure projects.
Mike currently is a member of the FIDIC Global Leadership Forum Advisory Board, Chair of the International Advisory Board of Leeds University Business School and sustainable infrastructure advisor to Mott MacDonald. He is Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering through which he continues to support the engineering industry.
He is the former CEO of Mott MacDonald, former Chair of the World Economic Forum Infrastructure Industries Governors and past member of the World Economic Forum’s Net Zero Carbon Cities Steering Board and the Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders. He is the former Chair of the UK Association for Consultancy and Engineering.
Mike is an active climate and sustainability campaigner promoting a more sustainable, integrated infrastructure industry, underpinned by a diverse, inclusive, and digitally enabled workforce. He speaks regularly at conferences on these subjects. He has twice been voted by the Women’s Business Council and Management Today as one of 30 Agents of Change for his efforts in tackling gender inequality in the workplace.
