Angela McKane had a vibrant 15 year career at bp, progressing to become the organisation’s Vice President of Technology Insights and growing a global team across the UK, US and China. After exiting bp, Angela launched her own firm – Energy Mix Ventures – in 2024.

Energy Mix Ventures invests in the opportunities arising as a result of the changing global energy mix. The firm has a particular interest in energy security, modernizing transport and solving the hard problems arising from seeking to design optimum energy systems for citizens and nations.

Earlier in her career, Angela worked in transport (at TfL) and in defence (at DSTL). She had life saving major cardiac surgery at the age of 26, her sight was saved by preventative retinal detachment surgery, and she has experienced first-hand how technology advancements can dramatically improve quality of life and help remove barriers to full participation in society.
