Cristina Oyón is Director of Technology, Innovation and Sustainability at SPRI, the Basque Business Development Agency in Spain (www,spri.eus). She is currently responsible for the design and implementation of the Smart Industry Strategy in the Basque region, that proposes a new industrial model that creates economic, social and sustainable environmental value, and manages the public funds for fostering industrial R&D&I in the region (230M€). Her experience in research, development and innovation policies, public funds management and public-private and international cooperation is cross-sectoral and has the overall aim of seeking long term impact in economic growth and well-being, at regional and European level She is member of the Industrial Forum, which assesses the European Commission in the implementation of the industrial strategy. She leads the Net Zero Basque Industrial Super Cluster that aims to accelerate the path to net zero emissions in the Basque Country and the Women in Manufacturing expert group of the World Manufacturing Foundation that was set up in 2020 with the aims to add to the momentum for closing the gender gap in the manufacturing industry and beyond.
