The "Call for Projects and Papers," an initiative of GET24's "Global Energy Transition Congress and Exhibition," has concluded with great success. This international call for new projects, technological solutions, visions, proposals, and ideas aims to accelerate the energy transition. Over 500 projects and papers from more than 50 countries across 4 continents were submitted. This participation led to the creation of two distinct programs: "Roadmaps to Net Zero," derived from the "Call for Papers," which includes 56 presentations distributed across 16 sessions; and "Project X Change," originating from the "Call for Projects," featuring over 40 decarbonization projects.

Scheduled at the Allianz MiCo Milano Convention Centre from July 1 to 3, 2024, GET24's "Global Energy Transition Congress and Exhibition" is the only global forum that aims to unite the energy sector and high-carbon-emission industrial ecosystems to accelerate the energy transition through decarbonization technologies, contributing to achieving "net zero" ambitions. The projects selected from the just-concluded international call, "Call For Projects And Papers," represent the focus and one of the most distinctive aspects of the forum. All initiatives were reviewed by an independent selection committee comprised of executives and experts in energy transition from critical climate sectors, ensuring the quality and relevance of the projects and papers. They were evaluated according to Rio guidelines, considering their relevance, interest, and originality.

The selected projects focus on the energy transition in crucial sectors such as industrial policies, energy, finance, and hard-to-abate industries. They are expected to enhance understanding of complex issues, foster consensus on challenging topics, and introduce innovative concepts capable of influencing professional thought and practices. During the forum, the selected papers, already on the program, will be presented at the "Roadmaps to Net Zero" conference, while the projects will be exhibited at the prestigious "Project X Change" theater, attended by visitors and delegates. Among the cutting-edge initiatives to be showcased during the "Project X Change" conference, many are Italian.

One example is Newcleo's project, which is revolutionizing nuclear energy with Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), fourth-generation lead-cooled small modular reactors. This technology addresses crucial challenges such as safety, costs, and nuclear waste disposal, paving the way for safer, cleaner, and more economical nuclear energy worldwide. Project partners include Assystem, ENEA, Enel, Fincantieri, France 2030, Ingérop, Maire, Newcleo, Onet Technologies, RINA, and Walter Tosto.
